I'm looking to upgrade to a full version of a daw. I've used cubase le for a few years and now garageband for about half a year. I am familiar with both and like both for different reasons. now to the question is there anyone out there that has both or can enlighten me on the better choice. I know it is usually a personal preference when it comes to daws but i just can't make my choice here.

I have both Cubase 5.5 and Logic Pro 9. I started with Cubase so I could move song files between the Macs at my college and my PC at home. Now I've got Logic, I'm slowly shifting in that direction. I use Cubase more for creating full scores for printing out than for recording now.

They're both good, but I seem to spend more time mucking about with settings on Cubase, whereas with Logic I spend more time recording, arranging and so on. I suppose the key question is do you need to share your song files with anyone?

Does that help at all?

Good stuff. I've found Logic to have a bit of a steep learning curve at first, but then I've been using Cubase for years. Once you work it out it's a breeze!
