yeah- I've been meaning to get a hold of that issue- I've read excerpts from it on the unofficial emu forum (www.productionforums.com)... it gets pretty in depth, anybody who owns this card begginer or not really should check it out.

No problem. I'm one of those who found the patchmixer difficult to understand, so now I finally can enjoy the soundcard to its fullest
One thing I haven't found out yet, is wether it's possible to assign filters to the inputs and tweak the filters in realtime.
Anyone know?

Well, the Emulator X includes something like 50+ different filters, but I think these aren't regarded as 'effects' per se.
