NOTE BOOK OR DESKTOP

Post by vishal2005 »

My question is that I am going to a far place for my studies . Should I get a laptop or carry this bulky computer.??

Also my comp has got a good sound card which will not be present in laptop .

I have a pc whose configuration is
RAM 256 MB
HARD DSK 40 GB
SOUND CARD 48 KHZ CREATIVE SOUND BLASTER LIVE
Its an internal card .
Will I get the same quality in it????
My next question is that what are the good softwares which can I use for my midi recording through usb midi.
I have cubase , cool edit pro , cakewalk , sonar, finale , sibelus. Is there any other??

well, if you have the money to buy a reasonable laptop, you might wanna get one...

also, you perhaps want more ram than 256, 1 gig or upwards.

i guess cubase, cakewalk/sonar, etc. are pretty decent programs for midi recording.

what else do you need a pc for ?

greetings, b.

the best combination for laptop is

Laptop+Usb Mixer
Usb mixers are very cheap and give you alot more choice for music producton.
i use the alesis multimix 12
Excelent mixer but it and all others have a flaw which kills me
when you try to recoerd audio it generates a high pitch wine noise which ends up in the recording its self.

the next one up i seen was a behringer UBxxx mixer with usb
im sure it will not have the same problem.
