disc quality

Post by Andy.T »

MY recording set up is very basic. Isimply transfer my resampled song on to my laptop and burn it to a cd-r disc.Iwas wondering, as a possible improvement to my finished recording,do different brands of disc vary in quality,or is there not much difference.Any comments?

To improve your recording you can use a mastering tool like Izotope Ozone (VST plugin).

Burn your cd in the slowest speed you can find. 1 x speed is the best

Andy.T,

I own a Tascam 2488 DAW and drop in on the Tascam forum now and again. The subject of which brand of CD is best for recording has been discussed there a few times. The general consensus, when all is said and done, is that there is little, if no, difference between brands. Some folks were quite adamant about certain brands, as we all are. I have used Maxell, Memorex, CompUSA, Fuji, TDK, and a couple of more. The only issue that I remember is having a high dropout (50%) with a batch or two of the TDK.

Hope that helps, although there was no strong opinion offered either way. . . . . .
