I use Sonar Home Studio 4XL. Its a cheap midi/audio editor that supports VST. I like the onboard sequencer in FantomX7 and use Sonar as a slave. This works fine for me, but i dont know if there is any free host to use with your VST.

well i have Pro Tools, i use for audio recording, i dont like it when it comes to handling MIdi because u can only control One VST instrument at a time, and FL or Reason dont do a good job of hosting them, trust me i have tried alot of different setups.

FL Studio is an excellent low-cost host. It's stable, easy to use, and cheap. There really isn't much software on this planet that fits into all those categories!

Reason does not host VSTi's or VSTs period.

http://www.kvraudio.com/ - go here, there are few others.

Good luck!
