Re: Arturia Jupiter-8V
Hi b3keys, I spent a little time in the Arturia booth last Friday. Their booth was near Adam Audio and Dave Smith Instruments. One of the Arturia guys gave me a quick tour of the new Origin desktop hardware synth and the new Jupiter-8V soft synth.
The image of the Jupiter-8 is really beautiful on their computer monitor. I asked if they have to pay Roland to use the image and the Arturia guy said "oh yea we do! we pay a lot to use that image!"
I am by no means a Jupiter expert, but this soft synth is really, really cool and sounds just like other recordings of the Jupiter that I have heard. I have never had the opportunity to sit down at an actual Jupiter-8 however so I can't tell you in any exacting terms exactly how perfectly it emmulates the Jupiter-8.
It was a lot of fun to play with in their booth however.

When most people go to work they work. When musicians go to work they play. Which do you prefer?
