Thought that for those of you upgrading to Windows Vista, like myself, this list may be useful. Follow the link posted below -

Why won't the V-Synth be made compatible with Vista?
Is there a reason for this at all?

Uhhhh . . .

Deliver productions at virtually any bit-depth, and sample rate (up to 64-bit, 500 kHz). Ensure pristine quality with POW-r dithering and Windowed Sinc sample rate conversion. Native 64-bit audio is the highest quality in the industry, not that I am worthy of this power, but even you, Art, would have to admit that it would be nice to know that it is there! LOL

You mean Vista now has everything Mac OS X had like 5 years ago? And who needs 64 bit 500 KHz when 99% of people are so lame that cannot even make anything good with 16 bit 44.1 KHz?

Art, out of everyone in this forum, you would be the first to agree that Microsoft needs to continue to improve their operating system. Well? They are!! Cheers are in order! By the way, "lame" people like me have been served well by Windows XP. I have found it to be rock-solid with the programs that I have been running. I'm glad that you and Mac have a lasting, loving relationship, but that does not alter the fact that there are millions of us out there who have enjoyed working in the Windows environment. You say "Potato", I say . . ."! By the way, sample rate is only one of the many factors effected by a 64 bit engine. Multiple audio tracks can now be more easily handled by the larger bus.

Cheers!!

No no, you got me wrong. I did not mean you or someone else in particular is lame. But you see even with 16 bit and 44.1 KHz only 1% of people do come up with some good stuff. 24/192 is only needed to those who really know why this is needed, and that is only 0.01% of people. I hope you do get me and this was just to show we do not know much about what we have but follow some bogus numbers as if they really show what the gear can do!

BTW I indeed am a Mac fan, but I only switched to it last year. Before that I used Linux for about 4 years after switching from Windows. I do like to poke some fun to Windows because I do find it a ridiculous system. But there was enough debates on this and I agree, someone just prefers to drive a BMW whereas a Subaru is in many ways better on the road and costs a bit less.
