Help with my DAW

Whats up fam

I am having a few issues with my audio PC running sx - mini moog - and a few other vst's

I have 100 gig HD partitioned into 50% of which 80% is free.
what would the best settings be for virtual memory? is more better or would the virtual memory be slower than the actual ram?

I have 2 gig ddr2 is that enough.

I also have a external HD 100gig where I try and store my stuff.
I could perhaps run that as virtual memory.

I have one of these 0 latency RME cards and I can get down to next to no latency but when I am playing chords with fancy bits it starts to distort a little.

Also my PC (since taking to a repair place) to put a new motherboard and processor has not worked the same since!

The PC shop could not give a **** so I need to tweek it myself but aint got a clue!!
