I can't open my Cubase SX3 files with the new Cubase 5 Essential... :O

Re: Cubase 5 vs Cubase SX 3
Probably.
P.S. I realize that my initial response could be seen as flippant. But in all seriousness, I suspect that the "Essential" product has been stripped of various technologies on-purpose. If you upgrade to 5 (flagship) then you will, I'm sure, be able to load all previous Cubase formats (to SX, at least).

Re: Cubase 5 vs Cubase SX 3
i have Cubase Studio 5 (the cheaper Cubase 5) and got SX3 for free, which i needed to open an old Cubase VST5 song. Once saved in Cubase SX3 i could load it into Cubase Studio 5, so it does work. As stated Essential (is that a bundled free version?) probably has it stripped out.
So it does work for the 'higher' models.
