For all of you MAC LOVERS out there!! =D
Re: For all of you MAC LOVERS out there!! =D
Wow... that is a monster computer. I remember my first computer I used for a DAW- a Mac Centris.
25mHz processor and 4 megs of ram.
That was 16 years ago. Amazing how far this industry has come.

dbijoux, see, **my Mac takes care of me, not the other way around. **
That's the main difference to a Windows machine. I do not need any antivirus scanners, RAM managers, registry cleaners, defragmentation once in a while - Mac OS X takes care of all that. It works as quickly and reliably as when I bought it 4 years ago. Same for audio - low latency, plug and play out of the box. Use as many USB/FireWire audio/MIDI devices in as many hosts at a time. No fuss at all.
I am not sure why you treat Mac users as blind fools though (at least you sound like you do ). I have enough experience on all platforms - Mac, Linux, Windows (4-5 years on each) - to calmly and frankly speak of downsides and benefits of each.

Sorry, didn't get it at all...

I'm a very happy PC user. Why are you Mac users out there always trying to make PC users feel guilty about their platform ?

Hey Vox!
I personally think it's 'PC Envy'!

Those specs made me think of my first sequencing computer: the noble Atari STe:
8MHz cpu speed
4MB RAM
It hardly ever crashes (present tense), and I only ever had 1 virus on it.
Enjoy yours, PiaKnowGuy.

All is simple guys... Just like a good friend of yours, I allow myself to recommend you what I think is the best for a certain task, what can make your life easier and allow more time to creativity. Yes, I really think that Macs are the best computers if we talk about music, audio, video, photography. If there comes something that betters them in the future - I will be recommending that new system too.

Its Fanboyism.... its a disease. Un-treatable. Spreads with interaction with others who have it. The only ones immune are the ones who only care about the end result. Their Music.

Hey Andy!
Thanks! It is a far cry from my first computer too . . . the 'noble' Atari 10st! I remember watching it 'draw' a cryptic color picture line by line and being totally impressed! =)
Cheers!

I'm actually convinced AppleCare has those memory erasing bling bling lights, like Men in Black. It seems even when your Mac breaks and you take it in for service, they are so pleasant that you don't even remember afterwards. It's really quite brilliant on their part.

dbijoux: That is the stupidest thing you have ever written. There is no such thing as a Neuralyzer. Mac's never break. You now want to go to the Apple Store and max out your credit cards.
