Making a Roland MC50 work with a Chinon FZ-357

Post by gkmaia »

I just got a Chinon FZ357 and I know the original is a 354.

I've been following some amiga forums where they manage to get the 357 to work on amiga computers. One key thing apart from jumper configuration is to short J2. Did that bu no success.

the drive has the LED always lit. The MC can format DD disks with success, but when reading or saving them I get error 12 which is related to the density of the disk.

Also have seen the 357 working on roland gear that is compatible with HD disks.

Is it dead end? Any other tips to try? Or some technical explanation for the symptoms I am experiening?
