RD700

Post by JazzXR »

I own a RD700 and a Fantom XR...I think that rd700's piano sound is better than the "FANTOMATIC" piano...
What do you think about?

"fantomatic"? Is that a preset piano sound in the XR?

I have an RD700 and although I like it, I don't think that it's piano is better than the Ultimate Grand or So True patches...

You're talking about a plain RD700 and not the SX version right?

I have the XR and I don't recall any ' Fantomatic' patch

If you like the Rd 700 acoustic piano, good for you

But it is a very 'old' piano sample taken from the 3080/5080 from 1998

And clearly, for most anyway, piano samples for romplers or digital pianos have greatly improved in quality and size in the past 3-4 years

uuhh?

i think the opposite way. i want to a have the Ultimate Grand or/and Superior Grand to leave the old Grand Piano1, 2 and 3 alone. ;-)

BTW, which Piano Patch do you like most on the RD 700?
I don't like the Grand Piano 1 and it's derivates (Mellow, Bright, Rock, Dynamic). It sounds muddy to me. So i only use Grand 2 for solo parts and Dynamic 2 to cut through the band.
