Using the WNA1100RL Wireless stick with computer

Post by lennyz »

Hi there,
yes, I bought the original WNA1100RL from Roland even though now having read in this forum you can also use the non-Roland WNA1100 from Netgear which works just as fine. (I could really slap myself for paying 30 Euros more).
Nevertheless, it works just fine with the FP-80 and my iPhone using the Air Recorder app. The problem is I don't need it to function with my phone - I want to connect it to my MBP and integrate it in my DAW (Ableton Live). Going over my router or also going ad-hoc I get a wlan connection between my keyboard and my computer. I just don't know how to go from there.
Has anybody got it to work? Any tips?

It's quite sad (IMHO) that Roland brings out the wireless adapter to function "only" with iOS hardware and apps. It would really be a winner if it would work on Androids, PC's and Macs too.

I got the adaptor today (£19.99 for the vanilla 1100) and cannot keep a connection with the iPad never mind my mBP...if you ever get a solution, let me know.
