RC-505 "Guitar to Bass" Effect

Post by Extramentalist »

I see people online using this octave-down pitch-shifter with very smooth results, yet I can't seem to get it to work properly. It sounds as if it can't decide the pitch of the signal. It's not as bad with a mic, but with a guitar it's basically useless. Any given note sounds like 2 notes a semitone apart trying to play at once, with occasional moments of clarity.

I'm running a fairly complex setup so lots of places it could go wrong:

Guitar (I guess the strings are pretty old, could this affect it?)
--> (Single TRS lead input) multi-effects processor (Digitech RP-1000)
--> L and R XLR cables into a mixer (panned hard L and R on a channel each)
--> (Mixer main out L and R) go into L and R inputs on Korg Microsampler
--> L and R out into RC-505 Instrument inputs L and R.

I'm trying at different gain levels, with and without compression, direct input to the looper doesn't seem to work either. Has anyone had issues like this?
