Cant connect wiireless to Roland Vr-09

Hello

I have been agonizing over connecting my Vr-09 to my iPad. The connector from Roland is about $40, the cable from Apple is $30, so I went with the option of the TP-Link WN722N V.2. Other people have reported success using this. I have installed the drivers and setup the network on Windows 10 64x but when I plug it into the memory port on the Vr-09, it will not recognize it in the wireless. My USB port on my keyboard will recognize other devices such as a usb memory drive. I am at a loss. Any help is appreciated.
