FP-30x Rebound Sound

Post by Aqueum »

I'm getting a strange rebound sound (a double or triple click) from some of the keys on my FP-30x:

It's currently with Roland for repair, but they say this is the expected operation of the FP-30X due to the physical sound of the hammer striking the felt and releasing. I find this bizarre given that it only happens with a few of the keys, dispersed all the way up the keyboard, and to different extents.

My options are to
1) Have it sent back home and put up with it,
2) Return it to the vendor and get a different Roland keyboard (perhaps an RD-88 but that also has the PHA-4 action), or
3) Return it to the vendor and get something with a different action.

Does the rebound sound seem normal to you? What would you recommend?
