Pedal Types for Fantom Keyboards

Post by chikitin »

There are according to Manual of Fantom X there are three types of Pedals:

1. Expression Pedal
2. Control Pedal
3. Pedal Switches
4. Foot switches

I have already a sustain pedal.

I was wondering if I could get some information about these types of pedal and what each do. Would be great if you could provide me with some brand and model.

I would like to be able to control expressions ( pitchbend, after touch, tap tempo, etc) and at the sequence level to be able to assign my control pedal to my soft synth say to, change the filter cutoff frequecy, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yes you can do all that....not sure about the softsynth stuff though.

You can assign your pedal or pedal board to do a number of tasks. Yes you could use a control or expression pedal (not on or off but like a car's gas pedal) to control the volume or expression. You can use on/off pedals to set the tempo in three taps or to do RPS stuff etc......

Only limited by your imagination.

Do a search on the forum for pedal .

Thanks for your prompt response. My sustain pedal is VFP1 :

I was wondering if I could use it also as control pedal.

a sustain pedal is a on/off pedal. That should work. Just try it out.

Thanks. I was just making sure that i would not damage my keyboard by hooking it up to the control pedal Jack.

I will give it a try.
