Edirol FA-66 wont power my mic

Hi Gang, Basically i brought a edirol FA-66 couple of days ago and there must be something wrong with the input 1/L port of the firewire card because basically i got my Rode NT-1A linked to the port i just explained but my mic wont record in cubase or any other music software i had the cable and the mic tested and they worked fine plus my firewire card must be working fine cause the programs detect that port and my phantom is on im completey stumped any suggestion will be much apprieciated

Could you post a little more info? Does the NT-1A work on the other XLR input? Have you tried a different mic on the 1/L input? If a dynamic mic works you can pretty much assume the phantom power is out. Also, are you sure the cable you are using has continuity on all three pins? Sometimes the ground is lifted from one side for certain purposes and then people tend to forget which cable they did it to [speaking from personal experience here :) ]

Hopefully it's a simple answer that doesn't require equipment returns.
