Br900CD problem

Hi guys, I recently acquired a Br900. I've just about figured out how to use it after many long nights studying the manual. The other night I fell asleep whilst recording. When I woke up I was shocked to find it was still on and in my sleepy state I turned it off straight from the wall socket. :'(

Now when I turn it on the lights flicker, and it's like the CD drive is trying to read a CD, I can hear something moving inside and the light flashes. If I open the CD drive it works fine, no noise, no lights flickering, but when I shut the drive the noise and the flickering starts again.

Anybody have an idea what I might have done to the thing? And is it fixable?
