PCR-300 - update the system to 1.05 (can´t run UpdSMF)pd

Post by micregalado »

HI. I really stuck here and my keyboard now don´t respond..

i'm trying to dump the 1.05 update ('p00001.mid' file - the latest system version for the PCR) to the keyboard using roland's own UpdSMF application on my mac osx10.6.7. i've removed the sticker on the bottom, flipped up the left switch and followed the instructions in the readme, and when I want to open the UpdSMF application just pop up and don´t open..so the keyboard reset and get stop in this step. Now i can use the keyboard, is like the firmware broke or i don´t know..if i try to flip down the left switch the keyboard just don´t turn on. If i let it switch up start but only can make this steps:
4. When the PCR's display indicates "ERAS," press the [DYNAMIC MAPPING] button.
5. When the PCR's display indicates "SURE," press the [C3] button.
6. On your computer, start up UpdSMF. (here started my big problem)

Hope anybody can help me because it´s giving me a big headache and a feel that i lost my keyboard.

I'm having the same issue. The controller is dead in the meantime. :(

I ve found a UpdSMF link (needed to update the PCR to version 1.05) , here http://www.roland.co.jp/support/article ... d=18468367 (use a traductor!) or here http://www.roland.com/support/article/? ... id=1812766. and it worked!
What we simply need is a:
"SMF (standard midi file) send" software,
the p000001.mid file,
and to follow instructions in the "pcr.105.pdf"

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE'S A PCR EDITOR FOR WINDOWS 7 64 BITS!!!!
(seems that Roland chooses not to be loyal about the Pcr series owners much anymore.)

So long folks!
