Yam P-120 Kurz SP-2 controllers. Sd-20 module sound access

Post by rb4u1 »

I recently purchased an Roland/Edirol Sd-20 which I trigger from a Yam-P120,
Kurz SP-2 and possibly a Roland Fp-4.
Is there a way to gain access to more than the first 32 sounds on my Yam or Kurz?
I would like to have a string patch. Brass patch, and possibly piano &
strings. I am aware this is not the intended use for this module but overall I am content
With the Ap, Rhodes, & Clav. I would just like to have more sounds at my fingertips.
Thanks for any input.

Welcome to the Clan!

In fact you can do several things in order to be able to get simultaneous access to lots of SD-20's different Parts, only depending on how many and which MIDI channels you send information on.

You can even use a MIDI Patcher or a MIDI Merger device and connect your 3 keyboards to the device (at the same time) and control up to 16 MIDI channels and route each one to a different Part or Parts.

Endless possibilities !
