Watch SH 201, Juno G, VP 550 free dvd here, with ex-YMO memb

Post by speedtribe »

This is part 2 of a free dvd featuring 3 keyboards, SH 201, Juno G and VP 550.

Assistant instructor is techno producer and YMO copy band member Hisashi Saito.

Head instructor is ex-YMO veteran member Hideki Matsutake, now member of Logic System and President of Japan Synthesizer Programmers Association.

They make an interesting lecture about synthesis. They explain how to use SH 201 to make a fat bass, strings and lead sound, Juno G to make rhythm tracks, VP 550 to make pads and vocoder, and V Link+motion dive.tokyo Performance Package for live music video, and use all these instruments in a very interesting live performance at the end!

Btw funny part is when Hisashi Saito said a D Beam synth performance sounds like Jimi Hendrix, but Hideki Matsutake said it just sounds like Roland's cat :)

Hey thanks for that link. It was interesting to watch and gain a greater understanding of the VP550. I also agree that these types of demos would be useful to some Fantom X users if they were produced for it.
