Hello,
I own a Yamaha Motif XS and a Roland Fantom x7......
I can buy a SH 201 for a cheap price......but
"is the SH201 a good supplement"?
I mean, Can the SH do things I can't do with my set?
greetings,
robbie.....
should I buy a SH 201?
Re: should I buy a SH 201?
You have two sample-based synths, and the SH-201 is an analog modeling synth. There are many limitations in the XS and X7 when it comes to creating analog-like sounds, so yes, the SH-201 will fill in this gap in your setup very nicely! It can do really great synth bass and synth lead sounds, and it has a ring mod which means you can use some tricks from the Fantom Tweakbook as well!
Thanks for your response
I buy the SH201 and about a few hours I'll get it.....
My first synt. was a Epro Spirit.......GREAT!
(see picture)
I like it very much, and I know how to make sounds with 2 VCO's.
It had no memory, so every adjustmend I wrote on a paper.....
If I want a voice I've early made I must set the knobs as set on the paper.......great times in the '80.
I see the SH has also "noise", great to make rare voices.....like drums or sea ore heli's......
I think tonight it gone be late!
greetings,
rob

great
It's a great thing the 201!
Just like in the old days......turning the knobs and try to get some great of strange sounds.......
Just like in the early '80.
The only - point is the plastic case.......and I hope that the knobs are strong enough for a few years.
I still go on with creating sounds.
Why no other users put their own sounds banks here?
Or do they play only the presets?
Can I put some memory modules inside?
Are there pictures from inside the SH201?
