Use as a sound card in MAC?

Just got a mac, can I change the SH201 into a dedicated sound card USB and use the phono inputs from my other synth and use the SH201 as a USB interface?

So far, after an hour Im unable to get the hardware synth to pass audio into the SH201 and into the Mac.

Only the SH201 works.
