It's been quiet here but I'm hoping someone will answer my question.
I am new to synths and I'm slowly figuring out how to use the SH but in the manual ( very bottom of page 27) it says you can create sounds "from scratch" from the end of preset group bank D. I have no idea how you go about doing that and the only thing I've been able to do is tweak the sound of whatever patch I'm using. I don't know. Sometimes I feel my SH isn't functioning properly. It was a demo but looked brand new.
Anyway, can somebody elaborate on what they mean or how to create sounds from scratch ???

Re: sounds from scratch
"Creating sounds from scratch" means that you start with a clean patch with initialized parameters, then scratch your head, and develop a new sound
Basically, you need to know the basics of operating an analog synthesizer, how oscillators, filters, envelopes and LFOs work. Roland US have a wonderful 101 course on this:
