Hi,
Just wondering whether anyone's had any specific success running the SH-201 USB Audio/MIDI driver under Snow Leopard? I believe it's a 32-bit driver trying to run in a 64-bit environment. Will it work, or does Roland have to provide a Snow Leopard update for it (and for the related librarian/editor software)?
SH-201 MIDI with Snow Leopard?
Re: SH-201 MIDI with Snow Leopard?
Snow Leopard apparently starts up in 32-bit, at least for now. Here's an article about it:

Re: SH-201 MIDI with Snow Leopard?
Well, thanks for that pre-release op-Ed piece, but it didn't help me in the
slightest bit.
Explicitly, MIDIServer starts up in 64-bit mode
on my MBP and then shuts down with an error
message indicating the attempted 32-bit Roland driver
is 32-bit only.
I would appreciate advice from someone with
any smattering of expertise in this matter, thanks.

Re: SH-201 MIDI with Snow Leopard?
Hi, I've since learned more: there is no Snow Leopard support for the SH-201.
I asked a question at Roland Support and was told to install Rosetta -- which is software for Mac that supports PPC-based software on an Intel Mac. Which has nothing to do with the fact that the SH-201 Intel Mac drivers do not work well with SL.
So... there you go, that's where things are at the moment. If you're planning to use an SH-201 with a Mac, please use an OSX version prior to Snow Leopard for now.
Very Best,
RT

ok cool: Roland's updated the SH-201 USB driver to be compatible with Snow Leopard.
THANK YOU, Roland!
