Midi capabilities

before i say anything, i'd like to acknowledge that, yes, this may very well be a "newb" question. i'm just entering the bright, shimmering world of analog synths, so i'm not up to stuff with my gear.

anyway. i understand that you can plug up a midi device to the sh-201 and play the patches/sounds (unless i'm completely off the mark with this). but would it work the other way around? as in, could you use the sh-201 as a midi keyboard? would i be able to plug the sh-201 into my mac and play from a library of soft synths?

PS- and no, im not buying a sh-201 for the sole purpose of playing soft synths. i'm just curious

Hi jonsie150

yep I use it as a midi keyboard to drive other midi sound modules
and you should be able to plug into any midi interface to pc/mac, whatever

Yep, You need just the usb cable and the midi driver installed on the mac.
You can use it as a controlling surface as well.(dunno how it works on the mac platform but its capable.)
