Recorder Problems

Ok, so I would like to record a phrase on my SH-201 and when I push the REC button all I get is my number selectors turning green allowing me to selection the phrase length. I get NO record standby mode, the record button doesn't blink at all.

Pushing play only turns the button green that's it.

When I try to push the REC button and WRITE at the same time to save the phrase the SH-201 freezes.

Any help?
