Midi sync with mc 909

Ok Hi guys I am just curious if anyone knows how to do this i have been pulling my hair out trying to figure it out.

I hook up my sh 201 to my mc 909 to my sh 201 via midi in on the 909 and out on the sh 201 the reason i do this is to control sounds and samples from synth keys rather than velocity pads.

Only problem is when i play on the synth it is still velocity measured even though I have turned off the velocity on the pads or set it to 127.

Is there anyway around this or is it another bug with the 909 i don't want to have to hit my synth keys with a hammer just to get a rich high drum sound lol thanks in advance guys,.
