Midi to USB not recognizing chords?

Hey there, so I've got this midi to usb cable that works pretty much seamlessly with all of my synths.

However, when i run it with my SH 201 the midi-to-usb OR synth is not recognizing any CHORDS when i play them and just transfers a single note (the one i hit first) Also im using ableton with all this

its pretty frustrating not being able to record my midi chords!

any help would be so so loved thx
