Hi

I have a problem with the SH 201 in logic. I am connecting the SH 201 with USB to my mac and use it as my audio interface and midi keyboard.

When I create a midi track in logic I hear the synth playing the midi even if it is muted, and when I create an external instrument track I hear the synth twice (flanged sound) .

I can not get my head around this issue, either it is something in the USB-audio transmission or the fact the the synth does not have direct monitoring or something

If I use an external audio interface will it solve this ? How I can make sure the synth is only transmitting midi through the USB and not both ?

You are hearing a flanged sound because the midi data is being sent as a loop. Example; when I have midi-in and out in my DAW on, it will send midi-out from my DAW, to the SH-201, and send it back into the DAW sending it back into the SH-201. If you turn midi-in off on your DAW it will lose this effect. I hope this makes sense to you.
