Keyboard split and midi out?

Hello everyone,
So using the keyboard split function, you can trigger different sounds on the high and low parts of the keyboard. I am curious if you can use midi out to control another sound source, but only for one side of the keyboard split. For example, can you trigger a Volca Beats through midi out with the lower two octaves, but trigger a 201 patch for the upper keys? Is this possible?
