Help with programming 80's sound

Post by donutninja »

Hello,

My band is covering the 80's song Major Tom by Peter Schilling. At the end of the solo section, there's a rising kind of sound that ends the solo (see attatchment). I'm pretty new to making sounds like this, any ideas? I've tried a few things that ended up nowhere close.

Thanks in advance

Punch in a string pad or Synth pad and select the waveform as a Saw or Super Saw Oscillator (Muck about with the envelope filters to get the patch how you like it to sound), slightly adjust the Rate / Time for PORTAMENTO. Near the end of the rise, clamp the pad using a dab of resonance and brighten with the cut off filter for completion.

Good luck !
