Changing Performance using korg

Post by Dire Virtuoso »

Hi,

I need to be able to change performance using a korg synth. In my case its a m50. I am able to change the patches using msb/lsb. What i do is to go to sequence mode and setup different sequences under each song. In one of the tracks i assign the patch msb / lsb (external mode) and set the transmitting channel numeber (for example channel 16 that can be receiving channel for SC) when i inc / dec or go from one sequence to another i'm able to change patches. But can't change performances using the same trick. Anyone has any idea about changing performance patches? Thanks in advance.

To change performance
0) You need to be in performance mode (you can remotely change to this mode with a sysex message )
1) Set the performance change channel (Menu/System/Midi/Performance Control Channel) The default is 16
2) Change the Bank to the performance bank you want (MSB 085 LSB 0=user RAM, 64=internal ROM)
3) Send patch change on the performance control channel

eg Channel 16 (numbers in hex)

BF 00 55 ; MSB Performance
BF 20 40 ; LSB ROM
CF 10 ; performance 16

All the best

Thanks again :) it worked perfectly. all i had to do was just to assign channel 16 and msb to 85.
