can anyone please advise me how to play a patch live while running the backing tracks.
I'm rehearsing using the sequencer in Logic with all the channel strips assigned to those in he SC, as I see no reason at ths point to export to the memory stick and run the songs from that ( as I'm making changes on the go ).
So I have all the songs paying the SC and now need to hook up my CME midi controller to a channel strip in the SC. I have set the CME midi channel to say channl 9 and assigned an instrument in the editor to channel 9 in the SZc for that song but nothing is happening.
cant find anything in the manual which minly focuses on using the front panel and not the editor.
Cheers
Alan
Playing SC live
Re: Playing SC live
Hi Alan,
I'm sure you know but, in the SC performance mode there are 16 Parts.
In Midi there are 16 Channels.
Any Part can be set to any Channel 1 to 16. So Part 9 could be set to channel 3 and so the controller putting out data on channel 9 would be ignored.
Check in the editor that the Part is really set to channel 9.
In the Editor: MODE = Perform and PERFORM = Midi
Select the correct channel and make sure the RCV MIDI is selected.
Note the stuff on the right side of CH 1 etc. has nothing to do with Parts. It is to do with the way the SC filters the incoming MIDI - always confusing.
Check that when you play the KB that the Midi (or USB) light is flashing on the SC. If not, the data is not being sent to the SC.
Check that the volume of part 9 not turned down.
Check that the output of part 9 is sent to L + R (bypassing the MFX) to see if there is a routing problem with the MFX.
Let me know if that helps
All the best
