SC & DR 880

Post by DEVO-UK »

HI Guys

A couple of you have suggested using this drum machine on a previous post about a replacement for the kits in the SC

Can I still use my midi info in the SC and get that to play the kits in the DR 880? Surely its just a matter of setting the incoming midi receive on the DR 880 to channel 1 (which is where I have all my drum midi info in the SC)

yup it is that simple. In the DR880 you have a bass midi channel and a drum midi channel. So you can assign two channels in the sonic cell to the dr880. Being that this was written so long ago you probably figured that out already.
I use my fantom S in performance mode to control my sonic cell and the dr880. and a few other things. I just got a edirol um550 patchbay so that I can keep everything in great time and not worry about midi delay once you go through too many machines.
Cheers,
Ian

Thanks. So impressed with the drums and bass sounds in this unit.

The DR-880 is a killer machine. Just regret that I had to sell mine...
