sustain pedal for RD-700gx

Im new to the forum and recently bought my first keyboard. Im trying to use a sustain pedal.
At the moment im using the damper pedal plugged into the first pedal whole. I have set it to Hold 1 function.
This holds the note for a while but not as long as the sustain on an accustic piano.
CAn any one help? Do i need to bye a specific pedal for sustain.

you should have it plugged into damper... the sustain should ring for as long as a real piano will.

Try a reset (check manual for this) if you aren't having any luck.
