Roland RD700GX to PC connection

Hi,

I want to know if it is possible to use the external speakers connected to the RD700GX to hear the sound produced by a Virtual Instruments from the PC (I am using Akoustik Piano). I want to know if it could work without connecting those speakers directly to sound card output.
It is I believe a general question not depending on the software used.
I have a problem, the sound coming from the PC sound card speakers is ok but the sound from the roland external speakers I am using does not come out properly (Soumd is played when I push a key, which is ok but another sound comes out when the key is released).

So the basic question is: Does the sound from a computer generated software has to go out only from the sound card output or does it come back to the ROland and can be played by the external speakers??
