RD 700GX - which amp
RD 700GX - which amp
I'm looking for an amp to pair with my 700GX. Primarily its for home use and in a 300 seat school hall. Initially I was considering a KC350 (120watts) but will a KC150 has sufficient power? Or can is there a cheaper alternative to the KC350?
Re: RD 700GX - which amp
Turboace,
Both seem to be good choices for both home/small stage gigs. But beware about the sound behavior in the 300 seat school environment, because depending on the acoustics of the room (reverberations, etc) / number of people present, etc, even with a very powerful amp, without proper equalizing, the sound, tend to be dull and messy and not perceivable at all.
But that doesn't mean that the KC150 and KC350 are not good choices...
Hove you seen SA-300 ? Portable mini PA ? it is awesome for keyboards, guitars, voice, drums...and is very portable.

Re: RD 700GX - which amp
Hi Turboace,
I faced the same question when i purchased my RD-700GX. After some in store experimentation and reading a good number of user review at Harmony Central and similar sites, I settled on the Behringer Ultratone K1800FX and have been very happy with it.
Considering the price of it, the K1800FX seems to be fantastic value for such a well thought out KB amp. You might want to consider it before spending nearly twice as much on another brand.
Not to say that other brands aren't as good or even better than the Behringer, but how much better relative to their additional expense?
Good luck with your journey.

Look at a mini PA system like the Yamaha Stagepas perhaps...
You need stereo for sure.. esp on a piano as the samples sound phasey in mono..
I am using a HK Audio 600 but thats overkill for most people...

Re: RD 700GX - which amp
JBL Eon 510's work wonderful...
280 Watts each continous and 560 Peak watts each...
Only 17lbs each.
Sound much better than all the keyboard amps I've tried...
$500.00 a piece at stores like...

RD 700GX Which Amp
Turbo:
I just purchase a Motion Sound KP-500Sn. 500 watts, 250 per side stereo. Two channels with four 1/4" inputs on each channel. It might be a bit much for home, but should be about right for 300 seats. It's costly compared to other suggestions here at aroun $1200 Street price. But I've heard that the piano samples in the RD are rather dull in mono. This rig gives you stereo in a combo integrated unit. 48 pounds and you can lift it late at night!
