RD700NX update version 1.04

Post by howardS »

I just noticed that there is a new update for the RD700NX now on the Roland US website. It is version 1.04 and can be found here. I havent tested it but hopefully it fixes the bug I found in the chorus/delay effect and noted on this post.

Lol...thanks. I wonder what they fixed. There are no release notes for it.

if they have fixed the acoustic piano sounds envelope generators decaying away so rapidly one octave above middle c onwards, i would buy one tomorrow. below that point it is the best piano sound i have ever heard from an electronic keyboard. (including the v piano which still has a synthetic quality) but currently the bell like sound of the top end is far from correct.

I did notice it before. Was it also a problem in version 1.03?

Thanks, Orvarbjarna. There were no release notes with the download itself which is why I made that comment.

hey johnc- i could not replicate this on my RD700NX running v1.04. i usually play the Concert Grand but no issue with fast decay...(?) honestly this is the best piano sound i have in my line up right now. so much character and warmth. :D you can check out my profile what other stuff i have if interested. :)

hi kenchan. i recently tried the ivory 2 steinway and then went to the local roland dealer and tried the 700nx. and i have to say i really couldn't tell any difference. infact i would say i preferred the roland as appears to be a slightly closer perspective which i prefer. both are really excellent and the best piano sound currently available IMHO. and the 700nx keyboard is also fantastic. great buy.

Sounds good. I too think this is by far the most realistic and musical piano available

I'm happy that the ON/OFF setting for the F8 (Timing Clock) message has been added. This will remove some extraneous data from my MIDI network. Thank your Roland.
