i saw that and scratched my head who would buy such a keyboard... (?)

i mean, im sure it works as a sort of halfarsed piano, and as a master keyboard for DAW. but it is also cosmetically ugly as an instrument. it looks like something that should stay in a a cheap project studio or something away from a live setting.

No MIDI IN?!?

I guess MIDI input works over USB…

This thing looks outright ugly! Nothing you'd want to be seen with, unless you name your band Kraftwerk...
Having a more mobile alternative to the huge RD700NX would actually be nice. But this new piano lacks the controls and editing features, I like the RD700 for. Roland, you can do better!

It seems odd that when you use it as a controller you lose the ability to use the internal sounds on the RD-64. I guess it's one or the other. It'll be interesting to see how this one gets accepted by the marketplace.

Here is a first look by Stephen Fortner of the RD-64. He points out in the video that the 64 keys is the same as was on the original Wurly.

He also says that the action on it is "really, really sweet". Which IMHO completely discredits him.

if it's the same as the RD300's keys, it's imho very cheap feel.

the only really sweet keybed is the PHA3.

The RD-300 is 20 years old or something, but yes, it's the same keybed as the RD-300NX and the FP-4-F. The same name, anyway.

im surprised you brought up a keybed from 20yrs ago. considering the context, i think one would assume we are talking about the latest models out on the market to compare.

Uhm, I think it's the same keybed as the RD300NX, not the RD300. Let's all use full names to avoid confusion...he he.
