RD-800 Local Off - No Pedal Noise

Hi,

I just got an RD-800 and am noticing that when it's connected to a computer and local switch is turned off, I no longer hear the damper pedal noise. I hear the piano and another sounds fine, and the damper pedal is working because the piano sustains when I press it, but the pedal noise made by pressing the damper pedal does not sound no matter what MIDI channel I switch to.

Can anyone explain how I can control the RD sounds from a computer, yet still hear damper pedal noise?
