RD700gx and midi hookup

Greetings,
I've got the RD700gx and I've never used it as a midi controller since I've had it. I've finally got the time to do some recording and I'd like to use it with Reaper as my DAW. I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 as my audio interface. I've used my JunoG with the usb midi hookup in the past, but the scarlett 18i8 only has midi in/out connections. I have tried everything I know to get this thing to work, and I simply can't find the answer. I'd be grateful for instructions as to how to get this working. I'm 62 now, and I'm a bit slower than I was when I was younger. Thanks to you all.
