Keysme wrote "You've heard of Hitler's revenge right? You know, the original VW Beetle? ;) Well, apparently we might be seeing the Fantom G become (or has already become) Emperor Hirohito's revenge.. :D Maybe Hirohito's grandson is actually the CEO of Roland Japan and he needed a keepsake to follow in Hitler's footsteps?? :D >> Fantom G = VW Beetle = synonymous = we're DOOMED.. :D Say it ain't so, but apparently no one at Roland is talking, so we have no way of knowing one way or the other what's what or even screw you. Maybe they really want to say "screw you" but it's taking every ounce of strength they have to keep from saying it - as evidenced by the crickets that keep chirping away on a moonless, overcast, blistering cold night - on planet Forgotten. :( "

Its a keyboard get over it, I found your WW2 refs offensive to the Japanese. By the way the Beetle is one of the best selling cars of all time. Get a passport, get a life.

As i've heard rumors about roland, that they are implementing new OS for your fantom g to self destruct within the upcoming years, for you to buy new roland products... And rumors has it that ARX-04, roland will be placing chipset thats a top secret as for now. when you're low in spirit about roland with regards to their customer support. Rumors has it, that when u connect the power of the G, it will self detonate...

Don't you think that the current OS is very usable in that self destruct part ?

Honestly, i hope roland will make arx-04 all about strings and guitars sound. especially the acoustic guitar patterns and arpeggios. If they can do that. It will really surpass much more than the other keyboard brands.... As for now I like rolands acoustic guitar nylan and string patch. But With regards to the guitar arpeggios, They really need to doit better, Copy like the real authentic guitar rhytm arpeggio patterns, with plucks and pulls...:) And i hope it wont self detonate.... :D

The NAMM show is not, of course, the only time that Roland releases new products and updates. We have six major product launches a year, so as I can understand the disappointment that an update or other wish list product wasn't released, it is not any demonstration that Roland isn't supporting our products.

Writing editorials on our new products when one hasn't been to the Winter NAMM show and experienced them in person then becomes simply opinion. Faux News. The V-Combo VR-700 has an entirely new tone wheel technology. And we thought it time to release an update to the VR-760 after so many professionals complained about the Nord copy of the VR-760 not having drawbars or real organ functionality. And the fact it combines an RD-700GX engine, plus tone wheel engine and synth engine, for far, far less then the Nord should not be dismissed.

Let me also set the record straight -- it is Yamaha who is now desperately trying to catch up to our V-Piano technology. No surprise there because that is the usual MO. The fact remains that the V-Piano platform is and will continue to be the benchmark in hardware modeling technology. I wish Yamaha the best of luck -- but modeling their OWN pianos is hardly groundbreaking when the V-Piano strives to give professional players a new and groundbreaking experience.

I will have up on my website many videos from the NAMM show floor, so you can get a real-time view of what our new products are about. And hopefully you will make your decision based on your own opinion and not someone else's review.

I wish Roland too would have had a 50 plus product launch. But, because of the situation brought on by eight years of US ecomonic policy that nearly bankrupted the world, smart companies have to operate more slowly and carefully now until the world corrects itself. Roland is a strong company and will continue forth. (Also, be wary of anyone who opines about Roland's sales figures. Either they are simply offering conjecture or work within the Music Instruments industry and have an agenda. Roland's sales philosophy has always been to be "the best, not the biggest", so comparing sales of one of our product lines to another companies is proof of little.)

We of course will have new products and updates in 2010 which I believe persons on the clan will be impressed with.

Now, entirely different subject:

Since my YouTube channel is now at over 500 subscribers, and I receive monthly over a hundred emails, it's getting impossible to answer everyone personally. (Plus, many of the emails are asking the same questions.) So, starting in February, I will instead offer a monthly real-time chat on either AIM or another platform. I hope in this way I can better reach out to each of you and get your questions answered more expeditiously.

Thanks, Dan! The VP-7 & SPD-30 really intrigue me!

Rhetorical question - Are the VP-7 and K-RS700GX1 fore-shadowing up-coming ARX releases, seeing as how ARX technology is congruent with both of these products? =)

@clan not dan
Hey guys...
Nothing!!! happend
Nothing came out to threaten the G
So the G is still current
So we got no update
either sell your G or make music

Who needs arx?
Unless its something other than yet another instrument board.
Dont forget.. as far as i can gather you limited on how many patches you can make and none of your settings are saved with the song.
So really!? is the current situation that! BAD!
Either you can use the G right now or you can not
Lets say they came out with another workstation..
Are you ready to jump ship?
are you looking to dump your G in favor of the next one?
are you all realy that insecure about your gear?
Best thing you can do for the future is make an investment in something you know will keep (you should be able to decide in a short time after your testing)
Dont be so short sighted and willing to try play catchup with your gear by investing and selling and investing and selling.
this just pushes up your costs and lowers the value of your investments.
If you purchase something new.. make sure it helps you move forward and not make you stand still untill the next firmware or gear release.
Dont think of your gear as all separate from each other..
try think of them as a whole unit working together..
if one part dont fit take it back sooner than later and get the part that does
start making music and be happy. :)

I don't think he mentioned the word fantom or arx in his post, the poster may of thought he was posting in the 'Other Roland Gear' thread.

Not sure if bad-mouthing Yamaha and making political comments is in your best interest Dan but whatever... If Roland Clan members want to hear UNBIASED reports on The Yamaha CP1 then check out:

When some highly respected professional players stand up and say the new CP1 is better than the V-Piano we should all take notice

The NAMM show is not, .....any demonstration that Roland isn't supporting our products.

True, but the past years demonstrate this very well. I'm not looking for new Roland products anymore.

Anyhow, slow movement of a company should give the ability to correct the current products.

I'm not going into details how I feel about Roland FG OS updates -> but to be honest - they felt unreal (like orchestrated :-/ ).

Imagine your a jilted lover and your ex shows up to tell you how well it's going and wants to still be friends and might invite you to the wedding if there's extra room and apparently doesn't quite remember your name.

yah, i was kinda hoping roland would do a 2nd gen digital mixer what is quieter than the ones out today. they hiss too much for recording. but the auto room acoustic calibration is great.
