Still Lerning NAMM Videos
Still Learning,
Good stuff !!! I enjoyed specialy the "Teenage Wasteland.wmv". Its rocks !!!
I had some difficulty trying to understand what Ed Diaz was saying, as the sound is not so good, but Ed's diction doesn't help a lot, does he ?
Thanks for your videos and stuff

Re: NEW FANTOM-G, PLEASE TALK HERE
All right boys and girls, Artemio wants the raw, uncompressed videos so I have started the 16 file, 285MB upload. It is around 8:40AM here in the L.A. area and the upload should take around 4.7 hours, if there are no hiccups. Keep your fingers crossed. This will be the largest FTP transfer I've ever tried.
Re: NEW FANTOM-G, PLEASE TALK HERE
Dan, thanks very much! Well, compared to my recent 6.66 GB download which took 2 days, that is a piece of cake

Still:
Thanx for your videos! It's incredible HOW NOISY it actually is over there at the NAMM 08 booth of Roland! But anyway: it's a nice service to let people from far far away participate.
The next thing I am looking forward to is that Roland puts some demos songs (or even better demo sounds) online to be more able to judge the G's sound quality!

Re: NEW FANTOM-G, PLEASE TALK HERE
I know this may have already been discussed but I haven't the time to read through 300 plus posts so can anyone tell me if I can record, mix and master all my midi, audio tracks on the Fantom G and then master to DAT or CD?
Re: NEW FANTOM-G, PLEASE TALK HERE

Re: NEW FANTOM-G, PLEASE TALK HERE
Hey Strut, This year, Roland used a lot more headphone stations at all of their demonstrations. Each headphone station mixed in the demonstrators voice with the audio output of the board being demonstrated. This allowed for a much better evaluation of all of the incredible brand new waves and patches on the Fantom G and the other boards.
Still not perfect, but is was much improved over trying to evaulate the new audio using studio monitors or PA's in a relatively noisy environment. Here is a photo of what I'm talking about. Notice all the people with headphones listening to the new RD-700GX demonstration.
On top of this, each major demonstration station had a compliment of stage wedges playing at a relatively lower volume for people to hear if they didn't want to wear the cans.
All the stations had headphone options, even the walk-up Juno, SH201, V-Synth GT, etc. stations

Still learning:
Thanks for the extra info on the headphones! Since I live far away (Germany) and since I am a hobby musician only, I will never go to NAMM supposedly, but with reports like yours (or the FAQ made by Audacity) it feels like being there!
(btw - it's srut, not strut, so you can save a letter for tough times... )

Fantom G vs. Fantom X comparison differences:

Relative Comparison between the new Fantom G and the older Fantom X series: (Note! There may be a
few discrepancies because of Roland's lack of specificities regarding the Fantom X specs on their web site). Also there may be a few errors on my part because of my lack of experience regarding some of the Fantom X features and how they work.

Re: NEW FANTOM-G, PLEASE TALK HERE
what I want to know is when I will be able to download the user manual and have a really good look at what it can do.
