Loading samples and other improvements (Fantom G)?

Post by HansT »

Have a Fantom XR (expanded to 1Gb ram) and use CF card for loading samples on live gigs.

The new Fantom G uses USB flash memory stick.

Q 1)
I have a card with about 300 samples and for gigs I use about 30-40 of them. Loading all 300 samples takes about 12-15 minutes. I don't have that much time.

So, since I don't wanna load all the samples, I have to go to the samplelist and set a mark on the specific samples I'm going to load from the card.

Have someone tried out the sampling section on the new Fantom G? Is this functionality improved (like f.inst. Yamaha Motif) ?

Is it possible to make an image/catalogfile (call it "live set 1", "live set 2".. etc) so I can load only specific samples with just pressing a button without having to go thru the hole list and select manually eact time?

Q 2) Also I miss memory protect for preventing accidently erasing og patch, performance, midi and sample files.

Does the Fantom G have this funtionallity?

Q 3) How many multisamples can be saved in usermemory and card? (maximum 128 on the Fantom X + 128 on card)

Someone who knows more about Fantom G?
