Re: New Wave sound Fantom-G
So the Kronos has Grand Piano modeling that is outstanding, the Motif Pianos are 8 layer samples.... Roland is investing time in in the V-Piano and Supernatural Expansions for the RD-700GX and on board FP-7F?
When will they just release the Grand Piano ARX for the Fantom G? Too much to ask?
The Fantom G needs better piano patches

Re: New Wave sound Fantom-G
you should try the walgrafix steinway heavy + rhodes mk1 package (minimum) or the one with the country guitar included which is what i currently use. it is nothing like any of the piano samples ive tried on the FG in the past. i made my patches so that they transition smoothly between the velocity layers. also, there is no loop and nice string resonance. it's in digital piano territory especially if you have a FG8. after getting walgrafix's goodness in my FG8, i decided not to buy the RD700NX and also postpone the Kronos88.chamsdaman wrote:So the Kronos has Grand Piano modeling that is outstanding, the Motif Pianos are 8 layer samples.... ive not played the Kronos so can't say how great they are. motif piano's in stock form sounded pretty good, but the keybed is not very impressive. VPiano is definitely a true modeled piano and feels very real. the RD700NX is fine but has latency issue when played with audio files, also just playing big chords quickly. not sure about the FP-7F. never tried it. besides the VPiano, i also have a CP1 and Nord StageEX. both have greatness all on its own not reproducable by Roland thus far.
another cheap digital piano alternative is the SV1. they sound good and play nice.
