Well I'm waiting for a new Fantom too. I had the XP80 since 1997, bought the Fantom X6 in 2007. Time to upgrade!

What I want is a new Fantom (could be Fantom V or Fantom NX or Fantom Z, whatever) with :

- SuperNatural pianos (at least the acoustic piano) and an integrated V.A. like in the Jupiter 80.
- Plenty of effects like the Fantom G
- New re-organized soundsets (and not just old banks followed by new banks featuring similar sounds)
- I want it black (I love black synths lol)
- Instant flash memory like the Motif XF

With those features, I'd buy it instantly.

I might as well get a Jupiter 80 but I'd rather wait for the new workstation.

Motif, Virus and other users get the benefit of several (or many) years of updates and enhancements.. o.s. releases that improve an already decent product....while the fantom G was crippled at launch and was left with serious useability flaws and lacks fundamental stuff that even its predecessor had.... So Roland will have a lot of P.R. work to do to demonstrate they wont ditch an unfinished workstation like they did with the Fantom G.... which begs the question of who will buy it?

I heard Roland will be releasing a new Fantom V which will be a mixture of Jupiter80, FantomG and with Supernatural Piano, and touch screen. Roland will need to respond to the Kronos success and come up with a new workstation, that's not too difficult to operate. Let's wait and see.

Okay lets say they do..
your still going to have to deal with their crappy file system.
So you will still have the same problem of not being able to move or transfer sounds/samples/multisamples etc between projects etc in any easy manner.
and im sure current jp80 owners will be delighted at spending all their money on a plain keybed when they could have had a workstation..
Realy though...
If you already have a G..
are you realy going to go for a V just to have supernatural??
