lcd red dot

a friend of mine just got a fantom g for a good deal, however there is a red dot near the bottom on the lcd.. i'm assuming a dead pixel.. is this the sign of a deteroriating screen? Should he be concerned if it's only visible on certain dark screens?

I wont worry about a single dot
People have been using all kinds of lcds with single dead pixels
which lasted many years.

thanks.. I told him the same.. other than that his phantom switch was missing the end piece, but you can still toggle it with a pen top. I told him to keep it, he got a good deal for under $1000.
