sustain pedal help

I just discovered I had an ensoniq fs-1 pedal.
I tried putting it in the "hold" switch and messing with the polarity in settings, but it doesn't sustain.
I can get it to work in the other slot as a program, start/stop button. Anything i'm missing to have sustain work here?

Not being cheeky (honest!) but is it in the right socket? Sustain pedal should go in the 'hold' socket.

yep, in the hold.. got it working.. for some reason, maybe it's the pedal, but It needs to be a tad bit out of the input to work.
